Audrey Larose Zicat, soprano
Biography
Audrey Larose Zicat was born in Lévis, Québec, Canada. She began her music lessons at the age of 10, at École de musique Jésus-Marie of Lévis. She studied singing with Mrs. Janick Desmeules and the piano with Mrs. Anne Carrier. In 2000, she went to Cégep of Ste-Foy with Mrs. Linda Dumont.

In 1994, she won a silver medal at Concours Provincial de Musique de Sillery. In 2001, in the same competition, she took away the gold medal. In 1999 and 2000, she played the main roles in musicals The Sound of Music (Maria) and Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins). She signed the stage setting and the production of Mary Poppins. Since 2002, she sang some roles like Simone in Les Mousquetaires au couvent, from Louis Varney, Constance in Dialogues of the Carmelites from Françis Poulenc and the fire, the princess and the nightingale in L’enfant et les sortilèges from Maurice Ravel. She was soloist in the Requiem from John Rutter, in the Missa Brevis in F major from Joseph Haydn, in Vesperae Solennes de Confessore from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Carmina Burana from Carl Orff. She played the role Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel from Engelbert Humperdinck and the title role in Alcina from G.F. Handel. She worked in masterclass with James Bowman, Daniel Taylor, the norwegian soprano Turid Karlsen, Christine Brewer, Dalton Baldwin, Rudolf Berger, General Director of the prestigious Volksoper in Vienna, David Lutz and recently, Roger Vignoles.

In August 2006, Audrey participated to Festival Ensemble with the Internationale Bachakademie in Stuttgart. She will do a tour in Austria, Switerzland and Germany. She worked with Helmut Rilling.

Audrey finished her first master’s degree’s year at Université Laval with Hélène Fortin. She's working now with Yolande Parent at Université de Montréal. Audrey sang the role of Antonia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann from Jacques Offenbach for the Opera de Brasov, Romania. We heard Audrey in a creation of Michel Legrand at Université de Montréal.

Last February, she sang the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus from J. Strauss with the Atelier d'opéra de l'Université de Montréal under Jean-François Rivest.
